Which credit agency does Sky use?
What credit reference agency does Sky use
Equifax and Experian
Equifax and Experian are our chosen credit reference agencies. Sky credit builder might help. It lets you take a SIM only plan to build up a payment history with us over six months, and this is taken into consideration if you re-apply to buy a phone or mobile accessory on a credit agreement with Sky.
Can you get Sky with bad credit
We'll carry out our usual credit, affordability, fraud and identity checks but we'll also take your credit builder payment history into consideration. Good to know: Sky credit builder is only available if you speak to us over the phone and take a SIM only plan.
Do you get credit checked for Sky
Before carrying out any checks, we'll always ask if it's ok with you first. One of the checks is a credit check (also known as a hard search). We'll only run this check if you're buying a Sky Glass TV and want to pay for it in monthly instalments.
WHO issues open Sky credit card

The OpenSky® Secured Visa® Credit Card is a legitimate card, and it's also one of NerdWallet's picks for the best credit cards for building credit. Issued by Capital Bank, it offers a way to build your credit by using what's known as a secured card.
Who do Sky use as their provider
O2’s
Sky Mobile is a virtual network, meaning it uses O2's service to get you connected. Other, similar networks like iD Mobile, SMARTY and giffgaff deliver SIM-only deals with 5G for around the same price.
Do credit agencies use Experian
Lenders can use your Experian credit report to access details about your borrowing history. This, of course, is only done with your permission. They may be able to see any existing credit accounts. This data can include the amount of credit that you have available to use.
How does Sky credit work
We'll lend you the money for the device/accessory. You can then repay the loan in monthly instalments. The credit agreement we offer is 0% interest, so you won't pay more for the device/accessory than if you bought it outright. It's regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
What happens if you don’t pay Sky
If you don't pay your mobile bill on time, you're at risk of losing your mobile service. Sky Mobile is billed separately from TV, Broadband or Talk. For help with your TV, Broadband and Talk account, go to Managing your bills and payments.

Do lenders look at Experian or TransUnion
When you are applying for a mortgage to buy a home, lenders will typically look at all of your credit history reports from the three major credit bureaus – Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. In most cases, mortgage lenders will look at your FICO score. There are different FICO scoring models.
Why is Experian score lower than TransUnion and Equifax
In addition to data differences, credit bureaus update their information at different intervals. For example, TransUnion may update its information every 30 days, whereas Experian may update information every 60 days. That time difference can lead to different scores.
